Key Output
- Boilermaker repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar equipment on site
- Artisan must be able to work overtime and Standby duty when necessary
- Do cutting and profile cutting with oxy-acetylene cutting process
- Remove portions of components (i.e. remove adaptor from cutting edge) with air-arc gouging process
- Provide sound welds in gas-metal arc (CO2) and shield metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G positions
- Assemble components such as buckets, bowls and blades dimensionally correct as per OEM drawings
- Use correct tooling to repair broken and bent components
- Effective self-management and performance ownership
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Matric & Qualified in relevant trade (Welder / Boilermaker)
Minimum 2 years work experience after qualification (Post apprenticeship)
- Medically fit for the position (Mines medical screening and surveillance)
- Driver's licence – Preferable Code C1 or higher
- Must have own tools and transport
- Must be a team player
- Must have good customer relations and live the eight values
- Must be willing to work shifts and standby
- Adhere to mine & company alcohol and drug zero tolerance policies
